And in some cases, we have even witnessed their deaths. George Floyd. Breonna Taylor. Sandra Bland. Jacob Blake. These individuals, and countless others, are the casualties of a broken system that has failed the very citizens it has vowed to protect.
It’s heartbreaking. It’s infuriating. And it has got to stop.
There is something we can do. We can call on President Biden and tell him that police accountability is a priority — that ending qualified immunity must be on the agenda for his first 100 days in office.
